Secretariat staff of the PPC visited the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) and had an exchange of views on Apr 6, 2017.
The PPC provided an explanation about the outline of the amended Act on the Protection of Personal Information and its latest efforts about the APEC CBPR system.
The OPC interlocutors covered a range of issues including the personal information protection system of Canada and its enforcement and other implementation policies and practices.
The PPC and the OPC have agreed to continue dialogues and make efforts to establish cooperative relationships in the future.
